GHG

green house gas reporting

The UK government has announced that quoted companies are required to report their annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions within their annual Directors’ Report under the Companies Act 2006 regulations.

This requirement became effective for reporting years ending on or after 30 September 2013 and applies to all quoted companies*.

Measuring and reporting on GHG emissions is seen as the first step in organisations reducing emissions, through monitoring, setting of carbon targets and implementing a carbon management plan. Under this requirement, companies must calculate their carbon footprint using a recognised standard and methodology which covers all emissions for that organisation globally.

UKGP uses the Greenhouse Gas Protocol to report emissions figures in line with DEFRA environmental reporting guidelines. Our platform also collates ongoing utility invoice and usage profile data and as such can be used for GHG reporting.

Contact us to discuss how we can help your company benefit from greenhouse gas reporting.

* Quoted companies are: UK incorporated and whose equity share capital is officially listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange; or is officially listed in a European Economic Area; or is admitted to dealing on either the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ
